Refunds & cancellations
How deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds work for Anchor Risk Advisory engagements.
This policy applies to advisory engagements with Anchor Risk Advisory — Continuity Readiness Reviews, Operational Risk Workshops, Crisis Communications Drills, and monthly retainers. It does not cover goods, software subscriptions, or products we do not sell.
Refund eligibility
Fees are for professional time and preparation. Refunds depend on how much work has started and how much notice you give before a scheduled session.
Timeframes
- Cooling-off before work starts: If you cancel within five business days of signing the engagement letter and we have not begun discovery interviews or document review, we refund deposits in full.
- After discovery has begun: Fees for time already spent on interviews, travel booked at your request, and drafting are non-refundable. Any unused balance of a prepaid fee may be partially refunded at our discretion after deducting work performed and non-recoverable costs.
- Completed deliverables: Once final documents or a completed workshop/drill have been delivered, fees for that work are non-refundable.
Deposits
Engagements over NZ$3,000 typically require a 30% deposit. The deposit secures calendar time. It is refundable under the cooling-off rule above; otherwise it is applied to the final invoice or retained for preparation already completed.
Cancellation by you
Provide written notice to info@nodequery-core.digital.

For multi-week Continuity Readiness Reviews, cancellation charges reflect work completed to date plus the deposit rules above.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule a workshop or drill once without charge if you give at least five business days’ notice and an alternate date is available within eight weeks. Further reschedules may incur a NZ$250 administration fee.
Cancellation by us
If we must cancel due to advisor illness or other cause and cannot offer a suitable alternate date, you receive a full refund of amounts paid for the cancelled portion.
Work already started
Drafts, interview notes, and partial packs remain billable for the effort invested. We can provide materials completed to date upon settlement of outstanding invoices, subject to confidentiality terms in the engagement letter.
Purchased materials and travel
Third-party room hire, printing, or travel booked specifically for your engagement and that cannot be cancelled free of charge are passed through and are non-refundable once incurred with your prior agreement.
No-shows
If your participants do not attend a scheduled workshop or drill without notice, the session fee is forfeited. A new date requires a new booking and fee.
Retainers
Monthly retainers billed in advance are refundable only for full unused months when cancelled with at least ten business days’ notice before the next billing date. Partial months are not prorated unless required by law.
Refund method and processing time
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within ten business days of approval. Bank processing times may add several days.

Exceptions
Statutory rights under New Zealand consumer law remain unaffected where they apply. If an engagement letter sets stricter or more specific commercial terms for a large project, those signed terms govern to the extent permitted by law.
